Celebrating diversity, community and connection in Elmbridge

What’s on?  An awesome day event to finally reconnect in person with our local community, outdoors and indoors, with middle-eastern and other international food, music, talks and much more

Why ‘shared future’?  To remind us we’re all so interdependent –  to celebrate and remember the importance of community, diversity, & sustainability towards a better future both globally and within Elmbridge

Who’s running it? A wonderful collaboration between various local community charities, primarily organised by the Riverhouse Barn, Elmbridge Cares, (local community awareness of global community issues) and Elmbridge CAN (refugee charity)

The Barn Theatre Club Playwriting Showcase – date tbc

The Barn Theatre Club in Molesey has a long history of supporting new writing, and so we were absolutely thrilled by the response to our call for entries to our New Playwriting Showcase. Our judging panel had a busy final few weeks of 2020, working their way through over 120 submissions to the competition.

Despite the numerous challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, our cast and production team showed great resilience and versatility, holding rehearsals virtually before moving back to the theatre in May 2021 once performance venues reopened.  We had some fantastic feedback and it was wonderful to see our loyal and appreciative (albeit socially distanced) audiences return to the Barn Theatre!

You can find out more about the showcase, casts and productions at www.thebarntheatremolesey.co.uk/showcase
